Colored pencil and cats go so well together. This piece allowed me to use all variety of pencil strokes, just as one would stroke the cat's fur. These lovely green eyes were captured so well in the reference photo, provided to me by a special client. It is surprising how one gets attached to the portrait after spending a lot of time discovering the various colors, sweeps of motion, and expression of the animal. There is a vacant place in my heart as well as my drawing board...then it's on to the next one.
