Patience

This beautiful black labrador retriever with the soulful eyes was such a pleasure to paint. I used pastel pencils and my own in-house model for an additional reference to the great photo the client sent. I did adjust down the size of the paw, which was larger due to the close proximity of the camera, to show more of his face and keep the main focus on his eyes. What a fun portrait. We lab owners have seen that look/posture many times.

If you would like to order a commissioned portrait for yourself, or as a gift, feel free to contact me through my website at the Contact the Artist button, or email me directly at [email protected]. I would be happy to discuss your ideas.
